Celebrate St. Bernard and Stand Up and Be Counted Event

The Celebrate St. Bernard Committee is holding its annual event to promote the 2010 Census. There will be a mini festival/pep rally, complete with entertainment, singing, dancing, cheer leaders, free food and free t-shirts and giveaways. The event will take place at Nunez Community College from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Los Islenos Heritage and Cultlural Society will celebrare its 34th annual Isleno Fiesta Saturday, March 20 and Sunday, March 21 on the grounds of Los Islenos Museum Complex, 1345 Bayou Road, in St. Bernard Village. The opening ceremony wil be at noon on Saturday, March 20th. The entertainment schedule is: Saturday, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Canary Island Musicians; from 3:00 - 6:00 Fredy Omar Con Su Banda , and from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. August Rush. On Sunday, the entertainment schedule is: noon - 2:00 Julio y Cesar; 1:00 - 3:00 St. Bernard Parish President and First Lady Easter Egg Hunt; 2:00 - 4:00 Canary Islnad Musicians, and from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. The Top Cats.

Crawfish Festival/Redfish Series

The Crawfish Festival will be held on Thursday, March 25, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday, March 26, from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Saturday, March 27, from 12:00 noon to 11:00 p.m., and Sunday, March 28, from 12:00 noon to 10:00 p.m., 2010. The Crawfish Festival and St. Bernard Parish Government will also host the "HT Professional Redfish Series" live weigh-in on Friday, March 26th at 3 p.m. and Saturday, March 27th at 3:00 p.m. 60 Teams of Professional anglers from across the Gulf Coast will compete for $20,000 in prize money. The Festival will also feature crawfish races, rides, live music, crawfish specialities and great family fun for all.
