TRICK OR TRUNK ACCEPTS CAR REGISTRATIONS
AND INVITES BUSINESSES TO ENTER THE PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST
The Trick or Trunk Halloween Event will be held on Saturday, October 27th, 2007 from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Nunez Community College Parking Lot, Chalmette, Louisiana. The day will be filled with many children’s activities including free music, face painting, hotdogs, popcorn, ice cream, drinks, pumpkin patch, harvest display and a photo spot for kids in costumes. The event is an opportunity to give children a safe fun environment to Trick or Treat and enjoy fall festivities.
Registrations are now being accepted to enter your car in the event by filling out a car registration form. Space is limited to the first 75 vehicles who register. Each car should provide candy for approximately 1,000 children and trunks need to be decorated in a Halloween Theme. First, Second and Third place prizes will be awarded for the “Best Decorated Trunk”. Participants are also encouraged to wear costumes. To receive a registration form you can e-mail the Office of Tourism at emcdougal@sbpg.net or call (504)278-4242 to have one faxed or picked up.
This year there will be an opportunity for Businesses to join the fun by entering a decorated Pumpkin. These Pumpkins will be displayed at the even and the kids will pick the winner by voting for the “Best Decorated Pumpkin”. Winners will receive a trophy to display proudly in their business.
Supporters of the event include, St. Bernard Parish Office of Tourism, St. Bernard Parish Council, Chamber of Commerce, Chalmette Refining, Nunez Community College and Kiwanis of St. Bernard.
